Thursday is Poem in Your Pocket Day!
Celebrate the second national Poem In Your Pocket Day on Thursday, April 30, 2009!
The idea is simple: select a poem you love during National Poetry Month, then carry it with you to share with co-workers, family, and friends on April 30, 2009.
Come by your library and pick out a poem to carry! We've got many poetry collections for adults, and for kids, too --

WE NOW HAVE PLAYAWAYS!
We're celebrating National Library Week by adding a new way to listen to books! Playaway – the first self-playing digital audio book – is now available at the libraries, adding the innovative digital format to our existing audio book collection.
Each Palm-Sized Unit is Permanently Loaded with an Audio Book to Make Listening as Simple as Pressing Play.
Playaway is the simplest way to listen to digital content on the go. It comes with the audio book already pre-loaded and a battery to make it play. Simply plug in earbuds and enjoy. Each Playaway weighs only two ounces and has a universal jack.
Half the size of a deck of cards, Playaway is the simplest way to listen to a book on the go – with no tapes or CDs.
There are many titles available on Playaway, including selections for children, bestselling adult fiction, and classics. And because Playaway’s format is friendly for listeners of all ages, every patron can enjoy the new format. The Abbeville County Library System includes the titles:
· 6 Rainier Drive by Debbie Macomber
· The Skin I'm In by Sharon Draper
· Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
· Double Dutch by Sharon Draper
· Over Her Dead Body by Kate White
· Innocent Traitor by Alison Weir
· And many others!
